Biggs Harley-Davidson History

Harley Hartman was a motorcycle enthusiast and also president of Fullerton Mortgage and Escrow Company when it purchased the Harley-Davidson dealership in Oceanside in 1988. Prior to that purchase, the dealership was struggling without a regular customer base because the principal had been in the business for 28 years and was suffering from "burnout." The original location of the dealership was in the valley and then moved to Hill Street.

Richard Lillibridge was involved in the operation of Harley's House of Harleys from its inception in 1988. In October of 1993, he purchased the business and took the corporation over as enthusiast and a businessman committed to investing in the success of the dealership. From the very beginning, he has invested in the ongoing growth and success of Harley's House of Harleys. Each year, the dealership has reached its sales quotas, and increased the motorcycle allocation on the "Turn and Earn" program.

Harley's House of Harleys then moved to its third location on Coast Highway. As President, Richard is devoted to maintaining a loyal and satisfied customer base, and has made a very large financial investment with that goal in mind. He has expanded the business to include an acre of land to accommodate the designer store and full Harley-Davidson® motorcycle line within a very nicely appointed 16,000 square foot building along the busy Coast Highway in Oceanside. Harley's House of Harleys also became the first Buell® motorcycle dealer in the San Diego area, qualifying for this franchise by being among the top 150 Harley-Davidson dealers.

In August of 2003, Harley's House of Harleys opened a second location in San Marcos, CA and changed its name to Biggs Harley-Davidson & Buell. This 50,000 sq. ft. facility, one of the largest in California, was a bowling alley and a skating rink before the renovations began. The Grand Opening took place on November 15-16, 2003.
